Buddha stretched his lobes in what is now known as gauging them. He had large gold earrings plugging up the holes, and when he went through his emotional journey and abandoned his clothes and riches he took out his earrings. He had stretched them so big that they could not close up and they just hung down.

Ahh, remain open and just listen .
